GetClauseApp
Refund Policy
This policy explains our refund terms, cancellation procedures, and payment dispute resolution for GetClauseApp subscriptions.
Our Refund Philosophy
GetClauseApp operates on a subscription model with clearly defined billing periods. Refunds are issued only in cases of billing errors or unauthorized charges—not for change of mind, unused services, or dissatisfaction with features.
By subscribing, you acknowledge that:
- Subscription fees are charged in advance for the billing period
- Services are considered "consumed" once the billing period begins
- Cancellations prevent future charges but do not trigger refunds for the current period
When Refunds Are Issued
Refunds are only processed in the following circumstances:
1. Billing Errors
If you were charged:
- Beyond your cancellation date (e.g., charged after successfully canceling 48+ hours before renewal)
- An incorrect amount (more than the listed subscription price)
- Duplicate charges for the same billing period
- After a failed payment that should have canceled your subscription
2. Unauthorized Transactions
If you did not authorize the charge and can provide evidence of unauthorized access to your account.
3. Technical Failures
If our service was completely unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours during your billing period (excluding scheduled maintenance).
Non-Refundable Scenarios
The following are NOT eligible for refunds under any circumstances:
- ✗Renewals: Automatic subscription renewals (responsibility lies with you to cancel before renewal)
- ✗Change of mind: Deciding you no longer need the service after being charged
- ✗Trial period cancellations: No charges are incurred during the 1-day free trial, so no refunds apply
- ✗Partial period refunds: No pro-rated refunds for unused days/months in your billing cycle
- ✗Feature dissatisfaction: Disagreement with product features, outputs, or functionality
- ✗Policies already generated: Any privacy policies created during your paid subscription period
- ✗Voluntary cancellations: Canceling mid-cycle (you retain access until period ends, no refund issued)
Cancellation Policy
Advance Notice Requirement
You must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next billing period.
Renewal date: June 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM
Cancellation deadline: May 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM (or earlier)
How to Cancel
- 1Log into your GetClauseApp account
- 2Navigate to Account Settings > Subscription
- 3Click Cancel Subscription
- 4Confirm cancellation
Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access during this time.
Late Cancellations
If you cancel within 24 hours of renewal, the charge for the next period will still process. This is a non-refundable renewal charge.
For detailed payment and cancellation mechanics, refer to Paddle.com's cancellation policy (our payment processor).
Refund Request Process
If you believe you qualify for a refund under the conditions above:
- 1Email [email protected] with subject: "Refund Request - [Your Account Email]"
- 2Include: account email, transaction date and amount, and supporting evidence (screenshots, receipts, cancellation confirmation)
- 3Our team will review within 5–7 business days and may request additional information
- 4Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 business days to the original payment method
Refunds are issued for the base subscription price only. Taxes, payment processing fees, and currency conversion charges are non-refundable.
Payment Disputes
All payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment processing, tax collection, subscription billing, and chargeback disputes.
- GetClauseApp billing errors → contact [email protected]
- Payment method issues → contact Paddle support or your bank/card provider
- Tax inquiries → refer to your Paddle receipt or contact Paddle directly
Chargebacks: If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first, your account will be immediately suspended and you may be liable for chargeback fees. We strongly encourage you to contact us before disputing charges with your payment provider.
Free Trial Terms
- Duration: 1-day free trial on all paid plans
- Charges: You are only charged after the trial ends if you do not cancel
- Trial cancellations: No refunds applicable (no charge was made)
- One trial per user: Free trials are limited to one per account/email address
Subscription Auto-Renewal
All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
You are responsible for:
- Monitoring your renewal dates
- Canceling before the 24-hour deadline
- Ensuring your payment method is up to date (or removing it to prevent renewal)
We are not responsible for reminder notifications about upcoming renewals, nor for refunds on renewals you forgot to cancel.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of GetClauseApp after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
